WebOct 22, 2002 · the PR-2 and PR-3 heads “B16A head” have a 5.75% better flow rate then the GSR head, But the intake manifold for the GSR head seems to help the GSR head compete with the B16A head. So for best results I personally would go with the B16A head with the ITR intake manifold. Feb 26, 2008. #2. type r head sure, its factory slightly ported and polished and has some nice cams for all motor, only thing is it'll cost you a pretty penny to get your hands on one, gsr head is nice too, good flow characteristics, and smaller combustion chambers (slightly) probably easier to find then a type r head. WebDec 17, 2008 · The gsr head does have a strighter run from the intake ports into the cylinder but its pretty stepp coming out..where the pr3's are a shallower approach both ways. Basically..they are very different heads..but perform pretty much equally. The intake manifolds though have a big difference. Which is why honda never repeated the gsr's … irc eat my dust
