Can i shoot slugs through a modified choke

"Rifled" Foster-type slugs are made to shoot through a smooth bore and do well in them, whereas sabot slugs are made to shoot through a rifled choke tube, or even a rifled barrel, and do very well through those.

They rattle their way all the way down the barrel and come out at the end. Full chokes are fine. Just think about it this way. I wouldn't shoot one through anything tighter like a turkey choke, though. Ok so a basic Remington or federal rifle slug through a Remington 870 rem choke would work.

Yes you can fire a rifled slug through a screw in choke.It's the same as a fixed choke barrel when it's screwed in.They usually work best with improved cyl.Do not ever fire your gun without a choke tube in it,it will mess up the threads in the barrel.
